Fear in the air
On Halloween, a consortium of companies including Microsoft, Apple, Sony, Ericsson, and BlackBerry filed lawsuits again Android manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC, LG, Huawei, Asustek, and ZTE, as well as other Android manufacturers. All the lawsuits target Google as well, if only indirectly, and one mentions the company by name, saying its core money-maker, Adwords, violates a 1998 patent.
Software patents are bad for software and Apple hooking up with Microsoft, Sony, Ericsson, and BlackBerry over software patents cries of desperation. Is Apple running scared because of Android's 81% market share and 25% more downloads from Google Play over Apple? I hope IOS 8 is more innovative than IOS 7.
